New World Order: Re-emergence of Russia as Superpower





The Russian President, Vladimir Putin has been seen as influential leader to mesmerize the world’s leaders with his diplomatic skills by his words; by elucidating his agendas at diplomatic front, and by media coverage. To give currency to this idea, the appearance of Putin for the first time in the UN Annual opening of the UN General Assembly is laudable. His grandiose attempts are for the sake of resurgence of Russia on the global front by making attempts to fight against Islamic State. For this very purpose at the 70th UN General Assembly session, he asked to form ‘grand coalition’ for the active engagement with pro-western allies on the land of Syria. Russia took vantage point on the re-alignment of global order by authoritarianism and real politik.      


The US administration has shown some defensive impetus in this regard by conformance on the stance of ‘Assad must go’ in Syria for joint coalition against Islamic State. The Putin’s good intention can help to resolve grinding conflict in Syria by reducing the physical and psychological infliction on displaced families. The Islamic State (IS) has sprawled its tentacles and caused rampant humanitarian catastrophe by thrusting migration crisis in Syria along with other neighboring countries. Therefore, Syria’s political and economic state of affairs is on the verge of collapse.       



The strife in Syria caught fire owing to enforcement of international rule of law by making attempts to oust the regime of Assad to avert the law of jungle. The purpose of Putin is to unveil chaos and turbulent world at the forum of the United Nation for the enlightenment of world leaders. For this, Putin suggested UN bodies to cease infringement of sovereignty by thrusting military might or by redefining western form of democracy, for the sake of revolution. Russia has casted aspersion on the credibility of UN Security council by employing the tool of veto for Syria, Time and again. Putin has endorsed the stance to shun the role of external powers in the affairs of Syria. Rather, he suggested, to halt the introduction of western democracy for the triumph and prosperity that leads to violence, poverty and social disaster. The role of UNO is to amend the situation in Syria by providence of security; prosperity, and human dignity through international cooperation.
