RHONGIYA EXODUS

Rohingya, Muslims minority, is languishing from violence and persecution in Myanmar. They have undergone sufferance while reaching Bangladesh. The UN says: they are the world’s most persecuted minority where about 90,000 Rohingya have crossed Bangladesh. There are multiple skirmishes between Buddhist and Rohingya, latest one is attacks on police, where the state has revenged Rohingya by torching Rohingya's villages.  The fault line lies between Buddhist nationalism and Rohingya's recognition, however, the state denies Rhongiya to recognize them as citizens and labeled them as illegal immigrants. There is the risk of ethnic radicalization warned Kofi Annan- former UN head.   For short term measures, Bangladesh must allow more Rhongiya in their country rather than blocking and sending them back, which is against international conventions. The support of International community is prerequisite to deal with menace of Rohingya refugee’s crisis.  However, for the long term measures, Rohingyas must be treated with respect and with fundamental human rights. For this to happen, world needs to mount pressure on Myanamar to save Rohingya from torture and persecution.
