Nexus Of Corruption With Crime

A corrupt finds many opportunities to squandered away resources at the administrative and executive spectrum in Pakistan. There are myriad of problems oscillating from crisis to crisis. This morphed into nexus of corruption with crime and terrorism. There are multiple evidences about the roots of corruption with the crime. There are many reasons behind these heinous acts of crime; ultimately, it halted the chain of progress.

                                                
The prime concern is unrelenting change in ‘attitude and behavior’ among elites, administers and judges. This fact undermines the smooth transitions of power with due responsibilities, as absolute power corrupt absolutely. The perpetrators of law are always in search of finding bottleneck situations. They find alley to commit the crime with involvement of law’s guardians. Therefore, they tried to vitiate the justice system. Once they are successful in undermining supreme institutions, they can freely live at large, without any discrimination. Nevertheless, law enforcement agencies must act as ‘custodian of peace’, rather allowing outlawed persons to freely involving in intercepting in ‘state’ affairs.   

These states of affairs do not interrupt here, rather plaguing and encouraging other state organs to complacent wrong-doers. Therefore, corruption at judicial level help to make in-roads to seep roots and forge environment for infrastructure, financial and logistics support to ‘terrorists’ and ‘malefactors’. 

Additionally, another encouraging fact ingrained crime with relation to corruption stand out on rhetoric and not actions. There is no dearth of slogan-charlatans who have vision for prosperity in Pakistan. But, when time comes to act stringently, you will hardly find anyone to lead the nation.

Fortunately, Pakistan Army has done remarkable job for discounting culture of corruption. Recently in 2015, COAS Raheel Sharif has sacked 30 top-notch army officers due to corruption and indulgence in malpractices. He has enlightened significance of ‘across the board accountability’. However, he presented his rhetoric time and again but actions stand out him among other leaders. He has realized the promised of peace with nation ‘the time is not far away when Pakistan will be an oasis of peace and leading among comity of nation’. 

Notwithstanding with this fact, another grave issue is function of NAB, National Accountability Bureau, it has indulge into selective approach, where they are not interested in tussle with élite administrators. Their approach of ‘see no evil, hear no evil’ undercut their credibility. The recent account and level of seriousness could be measured at the non-proactive and stringent silence about the Panama Leaks show as to cry wolf to clip the wings of malefactors. However, there are other stakeholders who are yielding benefit from riddle environment where security is only enshrine in constitution than in letter and spirit. The major stakeholders are the fourth organ of state. It is reaping gains for articulated stories devoid of facts.   

Conclusively, the state of affair has presented the landscape where nexus of corruption is getting grave with the passage of time. Thus, to detach this relationship from crime and terrorism, prudent policies with practical actions required for timely actions.
